Galhampton, Castle Carey
designed by Helen Faulls

Substantial re-contouring was carried out to create this garden.

Terracing adjacent to the house and a new flight steps into the garden were created by moving back retaining walls and creating new walls over 2m high in places, faced with Sherborne stone. Levelling and mounding were used to create new beds to indulge the owners horticultural interests. A small seating area was created to catch the sun at one end of the house and mark the entry to the garden.

The garden is designed to fade into the existing cider orchard and surrounding countryside.
